The following countries or regions pay dues of US$55.00 (Regular Members) and US$110.00 (Institutional Members) in US Dollars, by check drawn on an international bank in the USA that is recognized by the Federal Reserve System, or by major credit card (Visa or Mastercard):

Lectures are published in full in the Proceedings (Verhandlungen) in either English, French, or German. This compendium gives readers not only recent views on the major problems and controversies in limnology but also a comprehensive summary of much of the current research in the field of freshwater biology. The Verhandlungen also contains a current list of members and their addresses that is invaluable for many who wish to have wide contacts.

Proceedings of a congress, now in massive volumes of over 3,500 pages, appear approximately 18 months from the time of the meetings for the normal sequence of completion (editorial processing, typesetting, figure processing, proofing by authors, additional editorial proofing, collection of excess page charges, printing, collation, binding, and distribution by surface mail from Germany).

The Communications (Mitteilungen) consist of accounts of methods, reviews, and the proceedings of symposia. These are published in the Mitteilungen according to funds available.

Purchase of past publications by members is usually limited to payment of dues for three (3) years preceding the year of joining SIL. Retroactive payment of fees must be made to the General Secretary-Treasurer or National Representative at the current annual rate for ordinary members (Sodales) and institutional members (Sodales adjuncti). All earlier publications may be purchased from our publisher E.
